Over the past 20 years of being a workers' compensation attorney, I have been here in the California Central Valley, and agriculture is a key industry of this area. So, naturally, throughout the past 20 years, probably the majority of the cases I have handled have had to do with people who were injured while working in our ag industry.
There's a wide range of agricultural industry throughout California. We have farm labor contractors, we have big agricultural concerns that hire lots of employees, we have produce packing plants, we have meat processing plants. All of these are keyed off of the agricultural industry. If you're injured in any way in any of these industries, you should consult with a work comp attorney.
We find that here in the Central Valley where we have a lot of agricultural workers, and many of those workers transition from one employer to another throughout different seasons, that they face some specifically difficult issues in obtaining workers' compensation benefits. Having an attorney can make sure not only that you get the medical treatment that you deserve, but also that your rights are protected in this process.
If you've been injured as an agricultural worker here in California Central Valley, and you have any questions at all about what benefits you're entitled to, please consult with a workers' compensation attorney. Don't rely on what the insurance company tells you.
